Get Stunned by the View at Cafe in the Sky

by , in
How does it feel to sip a cup of coffee in the sky?

Two weeks ago, I was invited by a good friend to the newly opened Café at Mt. Cabuyao, Benguet Province owned by a corporation of her father in law. It is named Café in the Sky. Never heard of it. But it intrigued me that they kept saying it is located near La Presa. So where is actually La Presa?  Well Admittedly am not a big fan of ABS-CBN Teleserye "Forevermore" starring love team Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, where they featured Benguet strawberry farm. However when I saw the place, my eyes can't get enough of it,. you will know when you see it :)

Experience White Water Adventure with Camp Allen in Majayjay-Magdalena Laguna

by , in
White water rafting is an exciting adrenaline-pumping activity one must not missed when in the Philippines. This outdoor activity that makes you shout your lungs out while navigating on a whitewater gets a lot of people hooked. Unfortunately, there are still many who never had a chance to try it due to lack of time or budget to visit the provinces famous for water rafting like Cagayan de Oro, Kalinga or Davao.

Good thing, Camp Allen, a training and development center in Laguna, offers white water adventure in Majayjay & Magdalena, the nearest white water rafting spot off the metro. Now, one can experience the thrill of  rafting without going too far.

by , in

They say, "You can only live your life once"...

This became a reality when we attended the week training with Philippine Coast Guard-Special Operation Group (PCG-SOG) National Capital Region (NCR)  last October 6 to 11, 2014.

The training is about Water Safety, Rescue and Survival (WASAR) . I have known and heard a lot about it but being there in the first place is indeed  one big story.

Getting Around Intramuros on a Bambike

by , in

Getting around Intramuros, Manila on a bambike was a cool idea. Even better with people in love with Philippine history.

Yesterday, I had my first Intramuros Ecotour on a bambike (short for bamboo bike). And to my luck, I was able to ride with fellow bloggers and the Bambike owner/creator/eco tourism developer and a cool guy Bryan McClelland.

Bryan first introduced Bambike to us through a video presentation then he let us pick our choice of bambike for the tour. Here are some facts about Bambike:

Experiencing Snow at Manila Ocean Park’s Trails to Antarctica

by , in
Living in a tropical country with no occurrence of snow, I easily get fascinated whenever I watch TV shows about people experiencing snow, wearing thick coats and boots,  making snow man and throwing snow balls. But, I remember my own piece of snow when I was little.

The only place I experience snow was in our fridge. We get formed ice and slip it inside one's shirt. Then our play time started. Our little experience scraping those snow flakes was totally fun up until now but to have it in a much bigger venue was even better!

Chocolate Hills, Bohol (Photo credit: Juan Hapito)

Our getaway in Cebu and Bohol was more of a chill relaxing travel than a jam-packed-hop-on-one-place-to-another type of getaway. But, since a lot of friends have been asking for details, where to stay, what places to visit, how much for the entire trip, I decided to write our 3 Day Cebu Bohol  DIY Itinerary.

Yet Another Zoo Experience at Paradizoo and Residence Inn (Part 1)

by , in

In celebration with the annual Social Media Day, a group of bloggers visited Paradizoo in Mendez Cavite and Residence Inn in Tagaytay.  The last time I visited a zoo called Zoobic Safari in Subic, I was attacked by a group of creepy looking hornbill. This time, yet another zoo experience was added to my life encounters.

3 Best Attractions to look forward in Zoobic Safari

by , in
If you’re not a fan of animals in captivity,  Zoobic Safari isn’t a recommended place for you. But if you’re one curious adventurer who only itch to see what’s inside the famous zoo, then I guess one visit won’t hurt.

Last Thursday, I made my first visit inside the 25 hectare zoo. Inside are the many attractions from Aeta Trail to Subic Park to the popular Tiger Safari. The entire place was indeed something you will find interesting on your first visit but my 3 Best Attractions to look forward in Zoobic Safari are:

Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery in Laguna is only a few minute walk from our second home in Nagcarlan but we never had the chance to see what’s inside. It was just lately that I finally sneaked a peek in the town’s historical landmark.

Accidental Trip to Puerto Galera, Mindoro

by , in
DSC00257

It was April Fools Day when Cristina, a dear friend of mine, sent me a message on FB, “Let’s go to the beach”. I replied to her without a second thought “Leggo!”, knowing the fact that everyone’s after epic pranks and jokes on April fools. Call me gullible or impulsive but I can’t help it. Beach is something I just can’t resist.

Good thing, she wasn't really joking after all. So, with the remaining penny in my ATM, I packed all the needed stuff. Of course I did a little research about Puerto Galera beforehand, then I meet her.

We also invited a couple of friends to join us. But asking them on April Fools Day was a BAD idea. In short we were fooled, that’s okay though. At least we learned one thing: Never trust your friends on April Fools! Lol. But seriously I was still grateful they accompanied us to Buendia on our bus ride to Batangas Port.

And from there, our series of (mis)adventures begun.

Heat now officially kicked in. Summer time is on! :) I bet nobody wanted to stay inside the house in this hot weather. Everybody's wanting to have a chill at beachfront, yeah, you heard it right. It's beach time! :) So call your friend, family or loved one and spend some quality time together.
Good news is there are so many resorts nowadays offering sweet scape over the weekend and just near the metro. But if you want something different,

What to remember when trekking to Mt. Pinatubo

by , in
Mt Pinatubo For those of you planning a trek to Mt. Pinatubo, here are some tips:
  1. Do your research. Read some blogs and learn from the experience of people who have been there.
  2. Travel light. Trekking to Mt Pinatubo can be pretty exhausting. Day trip is one hour bumpy 4x4 ride and an hour trekking. You don’t want much baggage when you trek, do you?
  3. Eat heavy breakfast. Don’t worry you will burn it along the way.
  4. Wear trek clothes, anything light and something that dries fast. And bring an extra shirt if you have an excessive sweating.
  5. Wear appropriate footwear that can be used both for rocky road and little river crossings. No heels and weak step ins please.

Trek to Mt. Pinatubo Lake

by , in
Mt. Pinatubo Lake, located near the boundaries of Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales provinces in the Philippines, has been one of the tourist attraction in the country, not only because of its extreme adventure experience but also for the history behind its grandeur.
On 1991, Mt.Pinatubo erupted. 364 communities were affected.  2.1 million people, damaged. 73,000 houses, destroyed. 86,000 hectare farmland covered with “lahar” or volcanic ash. (Source
Imagine how catastrophic it was! But then something was proven that the greater the devastation, the greater the restoration.

Mt. Pinatubo’s lahar laden lands of Crow Valley, is today the beautiful waters of Lake Pinatubo. The boulders and rock formations are just some of the breathtaking views one must look forward when trekking to Mt. Pinatubo.
