Pueblo el Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove: En route to Cavinti Falls aka Pagsanjan Falls

by , in

Many of us Filipinos knew about Pagsanjan falls in Laguna. Who didn’t? It’s one of the most famous and most visited waterfalls in the Philippines. It’s written in our history books, taught by our teachers in Sibika at Kultura, and even included in the many exams we took during grade school. But little do we know that the falls is actually located in the boundary of Cavinti. And in 2009, the town of Cavinti submitted a proposal to the legislative to rename it as Cavinti Falls.

Cavinti Falls, like many other tourist destinations, has a folklore too. Filipinos looove stories. The more mysterious, the more it becomes interesting.

9 Picture-perfect Things you can do in Cavinti

by , in
Click here, click there, selfie (self portrait) everywhere. People all over the world are non stop in sharing picture-perfect moments of the things they love to do, may it be their  latest travels, food, people, gadgets, pets, outfit, accessories, name it. I myself am guilty of that, and one thing I cannot miss not to share is the experience I recently had in Cavinti.

Cavinti is a third class municipality in the province of Laguna. Approximately a hundred kilometers away from Manila, this soon to be one of the hottest tourist destinations in the country boast not only  its famous Underground River and Caves but you’ll be surprise of the many exciting activities and breath taking views any this humble province offers. And lucky me, I was able to try some of these during the 2-Day #CavEAT: Cavinti Eco Adventure Tour for bloggers/social influencer, initiated by Herald Bebis for the Municipality of Cavinti headed by Hon. Mayor Milbert Oliveros.

Experience White Water Adventure with Camp Allen in Majayjay-Magdalena Laguna

by , in
White water rafting is an exciting adrenaline-pumping activity one must not missed when in the Philippines. This outdoor activity that makes you shout your lungs out while navigating on a whitewater gets a lot of people hooked. Unfortunately, there are still many who never had a chance to try it due to lack of time or budget to visit the provinces famous for water rafting like Cagayan de Oro, Kalinga or Davao.

Good thing, Camp Allen, a training and development center in Laguna, offers white water adventure in Majayjay & Magdalena, the nearest white water rafting spot off the metro. Now, one can experience the thrill of  rafting without going too far.

Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery in Laguna is only a few minute walk from our second home in Nagcarlan but we never had the chance to see what’s inside. It was just lately that I finally sneaked a peek in the town’s historical landmark.

After an hour of driving, we finally set our feet in our short but sweet escape to Southwinds Resort, in Laguna.

Southwinds Resort is located at foot of the legendary Mount Makiling. It’s a nice place to chill and get off from the busy ambiance in the office. It has 5 nice pools (5ft, 4ft, and 3ft and (2) Kiddie Pool), rooms for couples and families, a videoke, and a convenient store.

Before going in, we first settled our bills at the lounge area. Here are their rates (as of December 7, 2012)

“Whew, it is getting hotter and hotter every day”, most of us claimed it to be. The fact is our rising global temperature is one of the catastrophic impacts of climate change. It is also one of the environmental challenges that our world is facing today. Good news is, there are still places that create our sustainable future and one of them is the Nuvali community, a 1,700 hectares of land that provides our need to protect, preserve, and conserve our Earth.
