Been carrying heavy watch since then? That you always care about not to bump into anything? We’re on the same road..

This year I decided to invest in a good sport watch that I could wear on any occasion. So you ask, what do I look for in a watch?

Okay. Here you go:

Flying for the first time

by , in

When we were kids, it was only a dream to be able to fly. But dreams can be turned into reality. We were able to fly at just the right age. Not too late.

Call me silly, but the feeling of doing something or being at some place for the first time, like flying for the first, makes me feel like I’m being executed! Perhaps, because of the many survival movies I’ve watched, like the latest movie Life of Pi where he was shipwrecked and his family wasn’t able to survive. Okay, I know, I’ll stop the nonsense but please, allow me to tell you our story.

El Nido, Palawan: Small Lagoon, will I ever forget you?

by , in

While riding on a boat going to small lagoon, I silently spoke to Him above, “Lord, make this Palawan trip unforgettable.” It was just weird that I had to asked for it because Palawan obviously is no doubt a paradise. The islands, beaches, lagoons, people and food were so amazing you will forget your name instead. But why did I whispered those words? Even I don’t understand, but despite, God granted it immediately.

Small lagoon was our first island to visit in our Tour A Island Hopping in El Nido. We were so excited as we approach the small lagoon. I can say by the standing ovation. So, to feed our cravings for water, the boat men/ tour guide told us {specially those who doesn’t know how to swim and those who’s motto is to be sure than sorry} to wear the life vest and we will proceed. Well, in my humble opinion, there’s no need for me to wear it, but mom insisted. And I had to obey.

Cadlao Lagoon, Palawan’s Forgotten Kingdom

by , in

When we asked Kuya Ding (our tour guide) what’s the most beautiful island or lagoon at El Nido, he could barely say one in particular, since for him, each island or lagoon is different from each other and their beauty are all incomparable.

So I reword my question, “What is your favorite among all the island/lagoon at El Nido?” He stopped for a while, thinking. Then he bluntly told us, “Cadlao lagoon. You’ll understand when we get there.”

Puerto Princesa, Palawan Underground River Tour

by , in
On our 5D/5N Palawan tour, we made sure to visit Puerto Princesa Palawan Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

Of course we did not cover the entire area  for it was said to be the longest navigable underground river in the world. But, for those who are planning to visit with a DIY itinerary, like we did, I suggest you plan it ahead prior to your tour. Puerto Princesa Underground River Tour can be done in just 5-6 hours. Ours took only 5 hours but we made it a whole day event so we could still chill at the end of the day. Here’s to share you our experience:

Bahay ni Lolo Manit; A Home Sweet Home Accommodation in Puerto Princesa, Palawan

One thing we considered in our Palawan Tour is the accommodation. My sister told me that, it has to be affordable yet cozy. So, I searched online, to the best of my powers, where to find an affordable-good looking lodging in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Puerto Princesa Palawan; Breath-taking Firefly Watching at Iwahig River

by , in
Day is done, gone the sun. Firefly watching at Iwahig River is first on our plan. Yay!

After the exciting ride with Cebu Pacific Air, we went straight to our lodging at Bahay ni Lolo Manit, which is just a 5-minute ride from the Puerto Princesa International Airport. It’s one complicated lodging to find (even online), ‘coz even the locals can’t recognize where it is but once you get in, you’ll forget you’re in a foreign land. It feels so home, even better. But, as much as we wanted to lay our dizzy heads in our comfortable pillows, can not be since we got an appointment with the Fireflies at the Iwahig River. So, we settled the payment, dropped our backpacks and hopped in our service van.

After unlocking the mysteries at the island of Matinloc, Kuya Ding {tour guide} seemed to hear our roaring tummies. So we sailed to Talisay Island, where the buffet was served.

“Our boat is coming! Give way!”

As we jumped off the boat, the first thought in my mind was,  “Hello, United Nation!”.

5D/5N Puerto Princesa-El Nido, Palawan DIY Itinerary

by , in
Going to some places you’ve never been before is really really fun and exciting. But remember to plan your trip ahead for you to avoid unnecessary expenses and headaches.

Last month, our family went to Puerto Princesa & El Nido, Palawan. We had a lot of firsts there. First time to  book a flight, first time to ride a plane, first time to do a whole day island hopping and first time to do a bloody itinerary for this 5 days-5 nights Puerto Princesa-El Nido Palawan Trip.

Here’s our itinerary which actually took several revisions until we finalized. You may use it {or not} if applicable to your schedule. You can also check the links for each tour for more specific  details.

How much would it cost to travel Palawan?

by , in

Cost would probably the usual question in mind when planning for a trip. That is why we made sure that before we arrived to Palawan for our 5 days- 5 nights Trip, everything was pre-planned including how much would it cost for our individual tours, lodging, transportation, food {of course} and souvenirs.
